Supplies

Below is a list of supplies you will need before your first lesson. Links have been provided for recommended products.

Violin - Viola - cello

We recommend renting for small children as they out grow them quickly. Adult students will need a 4/4 size instrument. Click on the button below to rent from www.sharmusic.com.

Shoulder Rest (violin/viola only)

The preferred brand of this studio is the KUN bar or Everest shoulder rest. You will need to purchase the correct size for your instrument.

Metronome/Tuner

You must be able to tune your instrument every day. A metronome/tuner combo not only allows you to tune your instrument but also helps to improve your tempo and sense of rhythm. There are also some great apps for both.

MUSIC STAND

This will be needed for group lessons and practices at home for proper posture when reading music.

Notebook & 3 ring binder

A spiral notebook (5x7 or larger) will be needed to write down weekly assignments and practice notes and a 3 ring black binder for sheet music. Please purchase these at your local office supply store.
